Welcome to

Precision Rifle Challenge

We are a close-knit community of match directors and shooters that focus on growing the precision rifle community here in the Great Lakes PRS Region. First time shooters will find a welcoming and encouraging community that wants to see them succeed in the sport. Veteran shooters will find the best organized and well thought out matches that rival anywhere else in the country.

Our Story

Where it all started

Precision Rifle Challenge was started with one thing in mind - to grow the sport of competitive rifle shooting through matches that challenge shooters and build community.

2016

Wisconsin Precision Rifle was started in 2016, primarily hosting matches at Racine County Line Rifle Club in Racine, WI.

2018

Ken & Missy Wheeler assumed leadership of Precision Rifle Challenge in 2018, migrating matches to Highlands Sportsman's Club in Cascade, WI opening up new opportunities across 600 acres.

Now

Wisconsin PRC currently hosts ongoing PRS Regional Series matches monthly from March thru September at several locations.  Michigan PRC currently hosts ongoing PRS Regional Series matches monthly from April thru September at Marksmanship Training Center

The PRC Squad

Meet the team behind the scope who organize Precision Rifle Challenge.

Ken Wheeler

Wisconsin-PRC DIRECTOR

Ken is an Engineering Manager at a deep hole drilling & gun drilling system manufacturer in Wisconsin.  He graduated from Michigan Tech University in 2005 with a BSME and then graduated from UW Milwaukee in 2012 with an MBA.  In 2009 Ken was introduced to rifle shooting by a long-time friend and Army sniper.  In 2016 Ken competed in his first Precision Rifle competition and also began helping with some match responsibilities.  In 2018, Ken was asked to take leadership of the Wisconsin Precision Rifle Challenge.  With Ken's leadership, the regional series has grown significantly throughout 2018 both in a number of shooters and level of competition.

Missy Wheeler

PRC ADMINISTRATOR

Missy has been shooting at the novice level for a little over a decade. As precision rifle shooting sports became more of a family affair, she naturally stepped into the role of Administrator. Missy has an extensive background in project implementation, management, and event planning. She works full-time in the pharmaceutical industry, is wife to Ken, a Mother of two, and Ironman triathlete. Although she resides in Wisconsin, she supports both PRC clubs, and is heavily involved in the coordination of the National PRS Match held in July.

Nate Whitehead

Michigan-PRC DIRECTOR

Nate is medically retired from the Army after 15 years of service, and several deployments.  Originally joining as a mechanic, he switched to Infantry after his first three-year contract.  He spent the majority of the rest of his career in Long Range Surveillance, serving in the team positions of Assistant Radio Telephone Operator, Senior Radio Telephone Operator, Senior Scout, Assistant Team Leader, and Senior Sniper.  After that unit closed it’s doors in 2011, he was assigned to a line infantry unit, as a Squad Leader. Nate founded the Michigan Precision Rifle Challenge in 2019.
